Investor Relations

Our focus has shifted to major projects involving the upliftment and care of disadvantaged women and children, particularly in hospitals and healthcare facilities.

LIVINGSTONE PROVINCIAL HOSPITAL
Livingstone Hospital is situated in Port Elizabeth and treats over 72 000 patients annually. Our donation of R1 600 000 went towards renovating the main reception area and entrance to the hospital, creating two new medical dressing rooms and renovating the outpatients department. Thanks to another successful partnership with the SAME Foundation during 2015/2016, the upgrades have made huge improvements to staff morale and patient experience.

KALAFONG HOSPITAL
In 2014 our initial donation of R1 500 000 and an additional R250 000, to commemorate the life of Nelson Mandela, was utilised to renovate the main reception area, the entrance to the trauma ward, porter's section, trauma and resuscitation unit and casualty nurses’ rest area and passage of Kalafong Hospital. Located in Atteridgeville Gauteng, it serves 182 000 patients a year. We are delighted that our investment has substantially improved service levels, patient experience and the motivation and confidence of staff.

ITIRELENG C.H.C
In 2012 we partnered, once again, with the Same Foundation and contributed R1,895,000 towards the renovation of the main Reception area, smaller waiting room and adjoining offices of this high profile clinic, situated in Dobsonville, Soweto. Due to the chronic disrepair of the interior and furnishings, the renovations included major restructuring of the area as well as new furnishings and equipment. Serving a population of some 200,000 nearby residents, this has vastly improved the whole patient experience and medical facilities, as well as providing a friendly and comfortable environment for the staff who work in the environment.

Somerset Hospital
SOMERSET HOSPITAL

We recently sponsored medical equipment, soft furnishings and uniforms, to the value of R2,000,000, for the new paediatric trauma ward and surrounding areas, at Somerset Hospital, which opened in April 2010. The objective of this initiative, in addition to the upliftment of critical medical facilities, was to also improve both the patient and medical staff experience through the provision of equipment to add to the aesthetics of this new state of the arts facility.

MITCHELLS PLAIN COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTRE

Following the success of the Somerset Hospital renovation, we were able to contribute R1,000,000 towards essential equipment, uniforms and soft furnishings for the new Trauma Section at Mitchells Plain Community Health Centre, which was completed in September 2010. The areas where we have made a difference are the Paediatric Trauma ward, and surrounding trauma areas, which has raised the level of comfort and boosted morale of both the patients and the staff. Essential Equipment and soft furnishings were provided for the new Trauma unit and surrounding areas at Mitchells Plain Community Health Centre, which was opened in September 2010.

LERATONG HOSPITAL

Our support for bricks and mortar projects in the health sector has extended to Gauteng where we were able to contribute R1,500,000 towards the renovation and furnishing of the main Reception Area, as well as part of the Casualty, i.e. triage, doctor’s offices and corridor of this Regional hospital on the West Rand, serving 1,5 million people, which was completed in August 2012. Not only has this made a difference to the “look and feel” of the hospital, but it has provided a much needed morale boost for the doctors and nurses, as well as patients and families who visit the facility.

HANOVER PARK PERI-NATAL CENTRE

A new portable structure on the premises of the Hanover Park Maternity Obstetric Unit, was erected to house the Peri-Natal Mental Health Project, which falls under the ambit of The University of Cape Town. Our support has provided a much needed facility, to assist this project with a friendly, comfortable environment where they are able to conduct valuable research and offer counselling to pregnant women with mental health disorders.
